Fifteen years of research, now given a home
The International Theology and Ministry Education Research Institute is newly registered,
but the research behind it is not. For the past fifteen years, our work has followed
Christian movements and ministry practice into places many were reluctant to look — asking
not what is popular or comfortable, but what the Scriptures actually say.
That research has spanned a wide range of pressing subjects: movements shaping worship and
spiritual practice, the theological currents beneath popular ministry trends, the impact of
emerging technology on pastoral life and preaching, and the ways faith and culture intersect
in the public square — among many other areas of study.
These projects share a common thread. Each addresses a movement or practice significant
enough to shape how ordinary believers understand their faith — and each required us to set
tradition and popularity aside, and ask a harder question:
Does this hold up against Scripture?
The Institute now formalizes that body of work under a single roof. What began as
independent, often solitary research has become a dedicated, non-denominational institute —
built so that fifteen years of careful study can be preserved, expanded, and placed into the
hands of the pastors, ministries, and believers it was always meant to serve.
A method, more than a subject list
Non-denominational from the outset
No church body or movement has ever directed our findings — including any we may
personally have historical ties to. That independence has shaped every project since.
Willing to go where others wouldn’t
Our research has often addressed subjects other institutions avoid because they touch
identity, income, or influence. That has never been the point — faithfulness has.
Text before tradition, every time
Whatever the subject, the same question anchors every project: what does Scripture
actually say, distinct from what has grown up around it?
Aimed at the pulpit, not the archive
Research that never reaches a pastor or a congregation has served no one. Every project
has been built to be used.
